According to the math placement exam, I was eligible for MATH140. I signed up for MATH130. What is the difference between these classes? Is the only difference that 130 is geared towards life science majors? Is one harder than the other? According to the biology req., I could take math 130 and 131 or 140 and 141. Which should I take? Would one get me a higher GPA? Would one look better for med/vet school? (I am in letters and sciences, I want to switch to biology, I would like to go to med or vet school)

In terms of difficulty it goes MATH130, and then MATH140 as I heard at Orientation while registering. I am taking MATH130 for the sheer reason that is it geared towards science majors either or if you’re a Bio major you’re going to have to take up to CalcII and that’s a lot of math (more than most college students will have) don’t sweat it too much :)

Okay thanks for the advice!

140 is for math, physics and engineering majors. Med school’s won’t care if you took 130 or 140, so go ahead and take 130.
