MATH 191 Professor

Well, I'm trying to figure out which professor to chose for my Math 191 course, and there are a few time slots that I'm thinking of. According to the time slots that I have narrowed it down to the professors I can chose from are RASSART, BLEAK, NEEDLEMAN, NEEDLEMAN, SMITH M, CADY. Wow thats really not narrowing it down at all but still...any suggestions?

Are you using Schedulizer? I cannot stress this enough.

I haven't taken courses from any of them, but you can check out ratemyprofessors and give it a shot.

yeah i am...i've found the schedule format i want..however i dont know which professors to chose. I simply want to know which ones are tools and which arent basically. I'd like to be able to understand the lectures and comprehend the tests

and i couldn't find any but CADY on ratemyprofessors...so im SOL

You're signed up for any lecture but you can go to any of them. They don't take attendance. So sign up for one, and go to them all until you find one you like. If you want, you can switch into that one early in the semester.

Bing Cady is a crazy old mofo. I wouldn't take a class from him. He's a nice old man, but, well he's a nice old man. You know the type. Nothing bad about him per say but he's not real exciting. It could be worse tho if you get him.

I'm surprised professors are listed for 191. Back in my day :D 191 was taught like a high school math class, small groups of 20-30 kids. Usually associate profs and the like would be the teachers. Did they change it to a big lecture like all the other maths?

Yeah...Cady is not the greatest teacher. I went to his lecture for 294 once...you can barely hear him in a lecture hall. He isn't the clearest teacher and sometimes gets confused when lecturing about something. He seems like the brilliant-but-crappy-teacher type professor.

So we can choose which professor to have for a class? How does that work, do we just go online and force our schedule in order to get that professor, dr do we have to talk with someone.

Well you can look up which professor is teaching which class, when and where.

But if you're signed up with one profesor, you can go to any of their lectures, or none of them. Find the one you like best. This isn't high school, kids. Nobody cares if you don't go to class.

Yeah, seems to me that A LOT of people know about Cady (not only from what I've heard on this forum). However, a lot of the other professors are not known at all, possibly because they're new this year? None of them were on Rate My Professor
