math 1b dilemna!

<p>Hey all, </p>

<p>I just had telebears, and I was able to get into the classes I wanted except math 1b.</p>

<p>There are three sections of math 1b:</p>

<ul>
<li>001 with ratner</li>
<li>002 with ratner</li>
<li>003 with borcherds</li>
</ul>

<p>I could not sign up for the 001 or 002 section because of a time conflict with other lectures and classes, so I opted to go for borcherds.</p>

<p>I could sign up for the lecture fine, but when I tried so sign up for a discussion time, everything was full! I couldn't even waitlist myself onto a discussion.</p>

<p>Now, I am worried that I won't be able to take math 1b next semester because there will be no room...any ideas as to what I can do?</p>

Damn that stupid system. I can't even waitlist since it's a manual waitlist.
Screw this, I'll hope for the best in Phase II...</p>

<p>Both of you should talk to the math department about this. I think Barbara Peavy is in charge of undergraduate matters. The undergrad office is on the 9th floor. They might be able to put both of you into a newly opened discussion section (I did this in August for Math 1A) or find extra waitlist space for a currently open section.</p>
