I’m a junior and want to go into STEM at an engineering school at hopefully one of the Ivies, or MIT/Caltech. I know there’s a “bar” score that I think I may have passed, but I’m an Asian American, and I know it can be harder for us to get in because so many of us have top scores. I’m not sure if my score is too low and if I should retake. I take many AP classes and am part of multiple clubs/honor societies/sports, so hopefully those will boost my chances. Thoughts?
No need to retake a 780 in Math 2. Focus on you app and essays.
Agreed. Also, don’t get caught up with percentiles. It is important to understand that for several subjects, the percentiles are depressed because so few colleges request Subject Tests, that the ones that do are the ultra selective ones. As a result, it is the high achieving kids taking the tests. No AO is sitting on the floor cross-referencing scores with percentiles.
