So I was reading through the Math 215 course information and came across this:

Clickers
Sections 20, 30, and 40 will be experimenting with using clickers in the classroom. As much as six percent (one percent from each course component) may be determined by your clicker participation. Your instructor will provide more details.

Anyone care to explain?

Thank you.

You remember that ask the audience lifeline on who wants to be a millionaire? Its like that, the teacher has a powerpoint with a question on it with answer choices. Your clicker will have to option of putting in the letters A-E. So you use that to answer questions, this is how professors measure participation, and it's also used to make sure ppl go to class.

We had this in my Physics 140 class and it was merely for attendance. We got 10 points for a correct answer, 9 points for a wrong answer, and 0 points for no answer. Thus, when it was all said and done, just show up to class and don't fall asleep.

WOWWWWWWWWWW

thats really frustrating.. that they actually have to come to the point to do this for attendance. it just makes it suck for the rest of us that dont want to come to class every once in a while..

I had this in Intro to Astronomy and it sucked... I ended up getting a B+ instead of an A- because I missed something like 24 classes... FYI if you take that class, everything is in the textbook and there's no point to going to class (except for the clicker attendance thing, ugh)
