Math 461 Mathematica?

Hi,

did anyone try MATH 461 "Mathematica" version?

Is it "easier" and "more useful" than a regular version?

I'm probably going to take it next semester for my math minor; however,
I hope it to be easy since my schedule will be tight.

Thanks.

Taking Math 241 in high school through U of I right now using Mathematica. It’s pretty great, but being in high school I still have access to a teacher if I have questions- very visually appealing, however, and becoming fluent in mathematica will not hurt me in the future I’m sure.

The class is very independent though… you have to be pretty confident in yourself to be able to find answers without a lot of resources besides the internet.

I’d imagine math 462 is even more difficult.

I’d say go for it if your schedule is tough enough as it is, otherwise just take the traditional course. You’ll probably retain more information that way.
