Could someone please help me find the Math 53 and Chem 1A books?

I believe the Math 53 textbook is called "Multivariable Calculus (Custom Math 53) For 07X, Stewart" but there seem to be so many versions on Amazon. Could anyone please link me to the correct version?

Also, does it matter whether I get the new or used version from Nedsbooks.com? Do people write in the used versions? Is the content the same or are the new ones updated?

I then searched Nedsbooks.com for Chem 1A and found a huge list of stuff but no textbook? The list included:

The textbook for chem 1a is listed on ned's the author is "Moore" ($149 used) Search by Course | Buy Textbooks | Ned's - Berkeley
*If you buy this textbook used you'll have to buy the online OWL Homework access code.

You're required to buy the lab notebook, Iclicker, and lab manual... as these are all required. Iclicker is technically optional but you'll lose 100 optional participation points if you don't buy/use it.

Calculator is listed as required on ned's but if you have a calc from home just use that instead.

the OWL comes w/ a web based version of the book... you don't have to buy the print edition, but most students just preferred having a tangible copy of the book to read and highlight.

You can't purchase the Math 53 book on Amazon, it is a custom book for the UC Berkeley Math 53 course. It is based on Stewart's Calculus text. If you want to get a head start just buy an old version of the textbook (or get it from the library) and work on the multivariable stuff, then get the book when you are on campus. Or order from efollett.com or ned's if they are online? Or half.com or whatever.

If we order the Math 53 book from ned's, will it be the same as the one we will use in the fall? Or do we have to order another one when school starts?

I am not sure if they have the new editions yet. Math dept at Berkeley is using different books next year which is why the school was not buying back the Math 1A/1B books in May.
