Math 53 Midterm Scores

Hi, I just had my first Math 53 midterm yesterday. The average was like 68-70 and I only scored a 71. ROUGHLY what letter grade would you say that this corresponds to? Do I still have a good chance of getting an A in the course? We have one more midterm and a final, both of which I plan to do better on.

You’re pretty much right on top of the curve, so it pretty much means a B-. Although individual curves don’t really mean anything grade-wise as grades are determined from an overall curve from everyone’s total grade at the end.

So is it still feasible for me to end up with an A as my final course grade? The two midterms are worth 25% each, the final is worth 40%, and homework/quizzes are worth 10%.

Yes it is still possible to get an A in the course. Study really hard and try to get a standard deviation above the mean on the next midterm, and then you’ll be back on track.
