I am kinda confused about the assessments, is it true that we do not have to take the math one if our ACT score is high enough? If so, what is the score?

I don’t know what the ACT score is, but go ahead and take the test - read the reqs here: http://testing.ua.edu/math_assess.html (no calculators). It is fairly easy, from what other students have said. Depending on your major, the result will recommend where to place you. Keep in mind that it/UA never places you higher than Calc 1 (Math 121/125, I believe), however, so if you already have AP results or similar, you may want to place yourself higher at registration if you have the pre-reqs for those higher classes.

So I took it and on the math assessment page it said I was placed in Math 121/125 but on Degree works it says Math 112… Math is my best subject so I wasn’t surprised when I was placed in Calculus but I’m very suprised about being placed in Math 112…

Do I have to take Math 112 if that is my placement on degree works?

If you “just” took the test, give DW a couple of days to update itself. The math assessment page is prob the most accurate. What is your Math score in SAT/ACT? If you have had pre-calc in HS, I’m sure Calc will be your next step.

It must be because I just took it because I got an email that said I was placed in Calculus
