MATH: Carnegie Mellon vs. Georgetown???

I'm deciding between Carnegie Mellon and Georgetown. My ultimate goal in life is to become an actuary, so I plan on majoring/taking courses in math, stats, econ, finance, business, etc.

I feel like CMU would prepare me better since it's more math/science oriented, but I like the overall atmosphere, social life, alumni connections, and location at Georgetown better. Plus, Georgetown is giving me twice as much financial aid. Where should I go???

In your case I’d choose Georgetown. Although I wholeheartedly believe that Gtown is overrated and its only excellent program is SFS, its still a pretty good school, in a really nice city, giving you much better aid.

Definitely Georgetown (in my opinion anyways)
