I selected a math professor with a great rating. However about a month ago 4 out of the 5 days is blank of any professor and on Tuesday it is another professor. Will those four days be taught by this professor now only on Tuesday or are they looking for another professor?

To be honest, it could be virtually anyone teaching your class.

I had a Stat 110 professor originally who had great reviews and I was really excited about having them and then about a week before it switched to this awful professor that I couldn’t stand.

I’ve had friends who had one professor for the first week and then a completely different one the rest of the semester. Some people go to class and have no idea who’s going to be teaching. It could change at any time.

But it is possible you’ll have say a small group one day a week with one professor and a large group the rest of the week with another.

Thank you so much!

How many students are in your math classes? How do you place into math classes? Thank you!

For placement, you take a placement exam before orientation. There are two different tests, one algebra based and one more calculus based. The one you take depends on your intended major. There are practice tests available for you to review and you can take it more than once. However, AP (and I assume IB scores) also play in. For instance, my D had the highest placement you can get based on the calculus placement which is Calculus, but if you have AB or BC credit you can register for higher class (she went straight to 241).

The placement test page on the orientation site will link you to where you can see what placement test is required for your major.

Current students can tell you about size. D’s have been honors and now upper level so for her between 15-30. It looks like some entry level classes may have bigger lectures along with a smaller recititation section.
