Math Credits

Hi! I'm new to this forum, as you can probably tell, and I have a question:

I'm currently in both Geometry Honors and Algebra 2 honors. I came into Algebra 2 honors halfway through the semester though so the school will only count it as a half-credit for Algebra 2. The reason I switched in during the middle of the year was because it was the only way I could meet my school requirements to take AP Calculus by Senior year.

My school said that they would explain to all the colleges I apply to why I only have 0.5 Algebra 2 credits instead of a full one and also said that the schools would understand and wouldn't discredit me for being "ambitious" in doing this.

Therefore my question is, would it be better to skip my lunch period next year and take the first semester of Algebra 2 Honors to get a full credit or will I be fine without it without harming my chances at a top 20 school?

Thanks!

If you need clarification just ask, I'm horrible at organizing this stuff.

Provided you complete AP Calculus, I truly doubt that there would be a college or university in the country that would care at all about Algebra 2. Trust your counselors on this, and don’t look back.

Thanks! I hope so haha

Ditto happymom. It would be a waste of your time to go back and take Algebra 1 first semester - you don’t need it.
