math department grading

dear cambridgeguy:

our homework was consistently impossible. i distinctly remember my TA saying "well, you could solve this problem using differential geometry... otherwise i don't know"

<a href="http://www.math.ucla.edu/%7Ebiskup/32a.1.07w/%5B/url%5D">http://www.math.ucla.edu/~biskup/32a.1.07w/</a></p>

is a list of his homework. check out homeworks 9 through 14. piece of cake my ass

grade distribution:

a+ to a- : 24 people
b+ to b- : 34 people
c+ to c- : 45 people
d : 6 people
f : 41 people

moldau, are you Armenian?

I just finished briefly looking at some of Biskup's HW, and I thought Chayes was hard. Maybe it's spring break and my brain is just too lazy to actually think critically. Anyway, I just finished Math 32B and I'm glad it's all over. No more Calculus for me. Stats 10 will probably be easy compared to 32A/B. But I can say one thing, 32B is a lot easier than 32A, at least with De Sapio it is.

I failed my complex analysis final...but so did 60% of the class....I ended up with a B+

Citan, did you have Lee?

who else?

Im glad I am done with this class, I would have been happy with a D.

flopsy - no, i just happen to enjoy bedrich smetana immensely. was introduced to his work in 8th grade :)
