Math/Econ vs. Business/Econ

As the title states, what is the difference between these two majors? I’m interested in a career in finance post-graduation, and I’m wondering which one is more quantitatively focused.

@bobsmithpi314 I think the answer is in the major titles you gave. Math Econ is. Bus Econ is simply Econ with some accounting classes. Looking at the required courses for the major on the UCLA website should give a better picture. Hope this helps.

@bobsmithpi314 Everyone is undeclared when they are admitted. So getting into biz Econ or Econ will depend whether or not you take the management series.

Assuming you are applying for admission as a frosh then you are not actually in any Econ major until you complete the prereqs with the required gpa. Full details on the econ web site.
