I've never been the strongest in math and I'm committing myself to overcoming my current attitude toward the subject. It doesn't come naturally to me so I tend to look for a lot of help outside of class. Does anybody know a good book or website I should use during the upcoming year? Thank you.

Sorry for double posting. But by the way, do you resources on any particular area of math or any course?

Calculus. I’ve always struggled and I have to work extremely hard to grasp the ideas. It’s without a doubt my most difficult subject.

AoPS Calculus textbook is pretty good, IMO. I never used the book (although I’ve used other AoPS books), but I looked at the excerpts. The way that the material is delivered, plus the additional rigor, make the subject challenging, yet easy to understand.

If you’re having difficulty, I would suggest using Khan Academy and then supplementing it with either the MIT OCW Scholar course for Single Variable Calculus (google it), as Khan Academy will give a very good introduction while OCW and AoPS tend to go very in-depth. Look at OCW and the excerpts of the AoPS Calculus book on artofproblemsolving.com, and if you find either very difficult even with Khan Academy, then I suggest using a regular calculus textbook such as Calculus by Finney.

Thank you all. I appreciate it.

@rspence: By the way, what’s your username on AoPS?

I second [Khan Academy](http://www.khanacademy.org) , I’m a 4.0 student but Mathematics is my weakest subject. I’ve moved from C’s to A’s in math after discovering the website.

In addition to the above, PatrickJMT is really helpful as well.

That’s exactly how I am. Math gives me fits constantly. I’m just concerned that if my math continues to be like this, my higher level sciences will suffer and keep me from pursuing my dream.
