Would colleges look down on someone who took Math I. Math is REALLY not my strong point, and I have taken precalc/trig/alg 2..but I feel like I could really get a higher score on Math I rather than II..would this look bad to colleges?

What they'll tell you: Nope, we have no preference as to which level math you take.

The truth: They want the smartest kids that they can get (especially the most competitive colleges). This means that if someone gets an 800 on a Math IC and someone else gets an 800 on a Math IIC, they'll accept the latter of the two. That being said, if you can only pull of an 600 on the Math IIC, and you could get a 750+ on the Math IC, DEFINITELY go for the IC.

The bottom line: Math isn't your strong suit, so I'd go for the IC (especially if you feel more comfortable with it). If you really want to buckle down, maybe get a tutor, and study for 5+ hours a day on math alone, then take the IIC, as it will look better. Don't worry though -- it's just ONE test out of probably 5 or so that you're taking, so it won't make that big of a deal.

Good luck and I hope that you do really well on whichever one you choose! Let us know how you do!
