Which calculator is better for the Math Level 2 Subject Test? The TI 84 or the TI Nspire?

I’m not familiar with the Nspire, but my TI-84 got me an 800. Just use the one that you’re familiar and comfortable with.

Use the TI 84. I know it says they’re fine in the rules apparently, but some proctors will not let you use Nspires because of the qwerty keyboard. In addition, there is nothing math wise on the test that you need a more powerful calculator for. It only covers through trig.

Most NSpires do not have a QWERTY keyboard, and I used an NSpire when I took Math II. Either or is fine; they are actually the same in terms of functionality (the NSpire has a better interface and resolution), so use the one you’re most comfortable with.

The Nspire and the 84 are very similar calculators. Just use whichever one you have and are more comfortable with.

Whichever you want dude

How can i use the TI-89 to get a 800?

You shouldn’t rely too heavily on calculator or type of calculator. I got 800 on Math II and probably only used the calculator on a few problems. Focus more on learning the material and being able to solve the problems; I’d only use the calculator to check arithmetic or when doing it by hand is difficult (e.g. evaluating ln 7).

Haha, well this may only be me, but I got an 800 on math IIC using my calculator for probably almost every problem. I approached the test as a calculator test basically. I used my CAS and it was very helpful. I don’t think most other people did that but that’s what I did…and thus I would recommend the best (legal) calculator allowed.

I propose that the SAT eliminates calculator usage.
