Math Major. Transferring to UC next fall. NEED HELP ASAP

Sup,

So I'm currently a student at Berkeley City College and my intended major is math, but I'm also taking pre-med courses. I'm sending apps in the fall to UCD, UCB, UCSB, UCI, UCSD, and some privates, but I'll be missing a couple of pre-requisites ( Calculus 3 and and differential equations). My gpa is a 3.9 right now but I'm probably going to get a C in this summer chem class, and I have A's in all my math classes and a B in one philosophy class. My question is will it really matter if I am missing those two pre-requisites? I plan to take them in the summer before I enroll at a four year.

Are you going to do a TAG with one of the schools? I dont think it matters because youll need to update your planner/class courses on the TAG website. Theres a portion that allows you to list the classes youve taken and will take/plan.

From what I’ve read, it won’t matter. I think you sound like you’re in great shape…nice high GPA!

As long as you’re taking this summer you should be fine. I think you apply before you have all your transfer units anyways.

If you’re sending in apps this Fall, then why don’t you take those 2 classes? Might as well get it over with before you transfer.

I was missing those and got in to UCSC and UCSB with the exact missing prereqs and a not so good gpa. Not UCI though but didn’t check the articulated courses. Although for UCSB I would look at the major courses, was 24+ courses for graduation so passed up their offer. I dropped Chem but for some schools it’s a recommended prereq.

put off the premed requirements, not the math courses. Aim for UCB and UCLA. If you don’t get into those, the other UCs will serve as safeties. You can always cram in premed courses later and med schools look down on applicants who take those classes at CCs.

If you are serious about medical school, the biggest problem you have right now is the prospect of getting a C in Chemistry, particularly when taken at a CC. If you can not pull out at least a B in the course your chances for acceptance at a US allopathic medical school become vanishingly small.
