Math Placement Test

Does anybody know what a good score is on this test?

I think I got a 5 on the calc BC- my teacher does too, but I took the test and I got 37/50 right. The computer messed up on two and didn't let me pick an answer. I also clicked the wrong one on one of the really easy questions.

i think you can retake it.

sorry man, you can only take the AP's once. You better start searching for a good community college in your neighborhood.

IF you're a junior or younger you can definately retake it. Just ask the AP coordinator at your school.

You guys totally misread his question; he wasn't talking about the AP test. And yes, you can retake the Math Placement Exam. I think there's a certain time, or you might have to take it on campus.

hmm i didn't even know they had placement exams :( when do they administer them? do all incoming freshmen have to take them?

If you are supposed to take a placement exam, the info comes in your registration packet. If you didn't get any info, then no you don't have to take the exam.

To the above people...the way I wrote my question above makes it sound like I did badly on my AP exam. I meant that I got 37 out of 50 on the placement exam for Syracuse.

Did this ever get resolved… I received a similar score and Im wondering if it’s bad…?

I honestly don’t think that it matters what you got. Mine was significantly lower than what you got–my highest math is Stats–and it was suggested that I take Math 121 and/or 183. Well guess what? For Newhouse I have to take Math 121 anyways. No one is looking at your score. Look at what your school requires and fill out your FTES accordingly. The scores aren’t that big of a deal.
