In California, most kids take Algebra 1 in 8th grade, and sometimes even 7th. I took it in 8th, then took Geometry in 9th, and Algebra 2 in 10th. As of now, I'm failing horribly at Math Analysis, and am seriously considering dropping it.

Would I be able to meet the Brown requirements, even though I took Algebra 1 (A high school requirement for most kids) in 8th?

And would it look bad on me if, instead of taking a 5th year of math, I took multiple college classes and APs in other areas?

Well, Algebra 1 isn't a "high school requirement for most kids" per se. Most people taking the honors track go straight into Geometry as a Freshman, having taken Alg. 1 in the 8th grade.

If you don't enjoy math, then don't do it (though you need that 4 years of Math to get into most selective institutions). Take APs and college credited classes in your field of interest instead.

if you wanted to take a math class that wasn't math analysis this year, you could just drop it and take statistics next semester at a community college

that way you still get at least a semester of math in
