I’m afraid that I won’t get into competitive colleges as I will only be taking Multivariable Calc in my senior year. Do I need to dual enroll in some college to take Linear Algebra and/or Differential Equations? Also, I’m going to finish AP bio and AP chem in one year. These tend to be my favorite subjects. Will it look good and is it possible to dual enroll in college biology and or chemistry ?
Most competitive students only get to AP Calculus (AB or BC). Don’t do anything for colleges either, but rather because it interests you. Just remember: get good grades!!
Dual-enrollment courses are expensive and logistically difficult for many students. For this reason, colleges don’t expect you to take any course that your high school doesn’t offer on its own campus. If you’ve taken all the advanced courses at your school (or most of them), you’ve done the best you can and colleges will judge you by the rest of your application.
It’s fine to take dual-enrollment classes if they’re available, but they won’t have much of an effect on your college admissions chances. What is your intended major?
