Math/Science SAT II question

Hello,

I'm a junior, and I've been thinking that I should take some kind of math or science SAT II this spring to diversify my testing (right now it's all lopsided on the English/history side of things--AP Language and APUSH, and SAT II World History). Of course, I want to pick the one that looks the best and that I can perform well on; I'd like to apply to places like Wellesley, Middlebury, Swarthmore, etc.

Currently, I'm taking Chemistry Honors (my school does not have AP Chem). I have so far maintained an A+ in the class, despite the fact that my teacher isn't the greatest and often I need to learn things on my own. Should I take the SAT II Chem test, or is it really wise for only AP Chem students to take it?

The other option for a math/science subject test is currently Math. I know there are two kinds: Level I and Level II. Which would be better for an Honors Precalculus straight-A student to take? Is it even advisable to take Math I, given that it's not the highest level? On the flip side, I've heard plenty of rumors about how difficult the Math II test is. If I'm not a completely brilliant math whiz, should I even bother?

Thanks for your help!

I don't think the AP designation should be a pre-requisite for taking the SAT II, although it can help just because the CollegeBoard/ETS develop both tests. That said, my daughter took the Chemistry SAT II and her school doesn't offer any APs in the sciences and she did just fine (730).

As for Math I or II I don't believe it would make that much difference which one you took at the schools you mentioned. Unless, perhaps, you were planning to pursue a degree in math, physics or engineering.

Just choose the one you feel you'll do the best in. If I recall correctly, Middlebury gives you the option of submitting SAT I scores, ACT scores or THREE SAT II scores (of course, they'll see all of your SAT scores if you choose to submit either SAT I or II for consideration by admissions).
