Sophomore year (last year), I took regular chem. My school does not offer AP or honors chem. I want to take SAT II Chem. How can I prepare to take it by June and score 750+? I have not even cracked open a book or ANYTHING. I'M A FREAKIN NEWBIE AT THIS GAME.

p.s. next year I'm taking AP Calc. Just finished pre-calc, but I feel that I'm not really stable at it. Should I take Math 2 or Math 1?

How do you plan on taking Chem in June if the June testing date has already passed (unless your planning a year in ahead)?

I’d take math 2 if possible, since Math I is simply an extension of SAT/ACT math and isn’t really well-respected.

Yeah, you’ll have to take Chem in October or whenever the next testing date is.

You’d be better off with Math II. Just review some pre-calculus topics (trig, logarithms, limits).

Math II, it looks better, and you can omit 6-7 and get an 800, whereas getting an 800 in Math I is impossible after you’ve gotten 1 wrong.

My school does not offer AP Chem but they do have Honors chem(first chem class ever), which i took my junior year (2011-2012) and it was so terribly useless (teacher was an annoying ***** that couldn’t teach for shiz) that I got a textbook from my grandpa(retired chem professor) and reviewed half of it with him over the course of the year. It’s by Silerberg or someone (don’t have it with me atm). That helped immensely. If you just get a good background in chemistry then you won’t have any problems. I took SAT II Chem in May this year and i thought it was very simple. I was confident with every answer besides two that i omitted. I got an 800 and i was sure i was going to get that score. Review the chemistry questions on the collegeboard website if anything. I know i sound like some snobby ass ****** in this post but i’m not that smart, i just got really good at chem this year.

now then onto Math 2 … math is my best subject and i take a dump on all of my competitive friends in math class and … collegeboard took a dump on me lol 730 . i retook a week ago. hoping for a 750+

Oh yea also… i actually enjoy chemistry … a wise note for you subject test takers who just wanna flip open a practice test book and expect to pull an 800 out of thin air … haters gon hate yeeeeee

LOL. I’m taking the Chem test next JUNE (2013).

So what are some good prep books? I don’t have a retired chem teacher at home, so it’s all self-study. My algebra 2 teacher was a chem teacher, so I might ask her for help and also my last year chem teacher who transferred to a diff school
