Math sequence for engineering?

I am taking classes at CSCC to major in some kind of engineering. I want to plan on OSU, so I’ve been looking at the course schedule to see what classes to plan on. I will meet with advisors and such, but I’m just starting calculus 1 so it’s not urgent.

What I am confused about, is whether to take engineering mathematics A/B or calculus 2/3. I already checked and they transfer as the same classes at osu. The OSU course sheet said engineering mathematics A/B, but it looked like calculus 2/3 were prereqs for other math classes like discrete mathematics etc.

What do you engineering folks take?

My son is an Engineering student OSU. He took AP Calculus AB and it got him out of Math 1151 (Calc 1). I’m not sure what Calc 2/3 is? Each Engineering Major has a “Bingo Sheet” just google it and it will walk you through what classes you need to take and in what order to complete your degree.

Engineering Math B is a pure weed out class, the average is around 60. The counselors will nudge toward taking it, you should just take regular calculus.

Thanks so much!
