Since a lot of people who visit this board are likely to be students that take the Calculus AB or Calculus BC AP test for credit, you should be aware of a probable change for incoming Fall 2005 freshman at UIUC. It appears the math department will be changing a number of its courses. The first Calculus course is currently 5 hours of credit and the second is 3. Thus, if you took AB you could get 5 hours of credit and BC 8. Most likely that will be changed by next semester to 4 hours for the first course and 3 for the second, meaning it is likely the AB credit will become 4 and the BC 7.

Also, the third Calculus course which is currently 3 hours and which many who have BC credit take as their first math course, will be changing to 4 credit hours as they are going to add some of the content from a Calculus 4 ("Advanced Calculus") course that is being discontinued. In addition, it appears there will be added an "applied" calculus course that incoming engineering students with BC credit, who do not take the Calculus I or II course at UIUC, may be required to take.
