i got a D- in Honors PreCalculus my first semester of junior year.

For second semester i am dropping to just regular PreCalculus. Will that validate and remove the D for the GPA?

If not, could i retake it first semester of my senior year and have it validated/removed or would the D still be counted in my college apps because the semester wouldn't have finished yet?

Also, if i was to just move on to Calulus AB senior year would that just validate and remove the D from my GPA?

Will this D affect my chances for any of the UC's ??

You can’t remove it unfortunately I’m on the same boat as you except it happened sophomore year. Try to do credit recovery and they will average it out with your old score gpa wise but its still good since you showed you can so it. If you retook the first semester it would remove the first score but we can’t do that since we apply before first semester of junior year ends. So yeah I’m gonna do credit recovery or a summer course than take AP calc next year. It probably will affect us unless we write a great section explaining the grade in our personal statement.

it’s such a burn. and the only reason i got a D was because we did ALL calc 1 stuff. we didn’t learn one precalc topic.

and do you know of any places online to take it at?

I had the exact thing happen to me. I got a D in honors precalc my junior year. I just dropped to regular precalc but took both A and B and got an A. The D was then removed from my transcript. So it’s possible, just take precalc A and B. Best of luck!
