I decided that I was just going to repeat first year calc and do 31L. Well I checked the requirements for 32 and decided I may as well take it. I didn't like the lab part of 31, as well as the class times. I scored a 780 on the SAT and 740 on IIC. I completed IB Math Methods SL and I'll find out my score on July 6th. It's probably around a 5, maybe a 6. What is the difference between 32 and 41, and do you think it's a good idea to just go ahead and not repeat? I know Duke math is hard, so that's why I'm not sure exactly what I want to do.

Thanks

Well I looked more into it and decided 41 would be the class for me. I can take it with Hodel, who appears to be good.

Still, does anyone know how much IB Math Methods SL and AP Calc AB overlap? Everything is set up for AB and I want to make sure SL prepared me well enough.

They barely overlap, in my opinion.

I took the AP Calc AB class this year and got a 5 on the exam. I also took the IB Math Methods SL exam and got a 6, but I was suprised at how little calculus was required for the IB exam. Although IB Math Methods SL covers more topics (probability, vectors, etc), there is much more to Calc 1 than is covered in the IB syllabus.
