Hello guys,
I am currently taking a pre-calculus class as i am a computer science student. However, I am struggling in the class and cannot make any progress in my learning. It is a bit hard to me due to two things: I have zero background in math and the class is not srlf-paced. I find myself need to work on the next chapter while I still do not understand the previous one well. I am thinking of dropping the class and work on it before I take it again in college. I also need to review some algebra and geometry lessons to be ready for that level on math. Please advice me and guide me as I am being so stressed out and worried of receiving low grades.
Thanks in advance!,
Abdell
What do you mean you have zero background in math? Math builds on itself. If you don’t have a strong foundation in algebra, you need to start there.
Hello,
I meant I did not study a lot of math before. I have just started to study math couple months ago and everything I studied was done in a hurry what makes me like I have never studied math and do not know some important basics.
You might try Khan Academy - it starts off with counting and goes at least through calculus, and will let you test out of the early levels, so you’ll end up where you need to be pretty quickly. Once you’re comfortable with KA precalc, then take the class.
