It says no drugs were found at the scene. Hope the autopsy confirms that. I believe he has been clean for a while.

I’m so shocked. I read his autobiography and he had really been through some bad times. Of course, with someone with his addiction history, the mind goes to relapse first thing. But it’s also possible that his drug use had caused heart disease or some other problem, and perhaps being in a hot tub caused some kind of arrythmia. I’m sure it will all come out in the end, so speculating might not be a good idea.
So so sad. So many people loved Friends and will be devastated.

My younger son loves that show. I don’t even have the heart to text him about it.
I was so sorry to hear about this. Matthew and the rest of the Friends ensemble provided so much entertainment to so many people, it’s a shame he missed out on a lot of the reward. I read his autobiography and his life wasn’t the dream most people imagine a Hollywood star lives.

We never saw Friends in its first run, but discovered it about 14 years ago. We watch Friends every night. Truly every night. It makes us laugh, sometimes it makes us cry. The characters are relatable in that I’m an absolute mix of Monica and Phoebe. My love is an absolute mix of Chandler and Ross. Our D says she’s a mix of Monica, Phoebe and Chandler.
I listen to a podcast (Best of Friends) that hasn’t posted since the reunion. I emailed begging for a memorial episode.
I have Matthew’s audio book (read by him) in the queue and was going to start next week (when my current book is complete) - I won’t wait. I’ll start right away.
I sincerely hope it wasn’t a drugs/alcohol related death. He seemed to be getting his life together.
RIP Matthew Perry. You’ll always be Chandler Bing to me, and thank you for letting this old lady have a huge crush on you!

He was my favorite Friend
I had a text from D1 when I woke up this morning as we are preparing to fly home from London. My girls adore Friends and have seen every episode many times. I know when D2 hears the news today she will be so sad. Friends started in 1994 the year D2 was born and will turn 30 next year just like D2. We would buy a season of Friends and the girls would watch it on the little TV we had in the car when we drove from San Diego to Utah to ski.
