max scholarship an international student can get at UC Davis

Hello! I’m an international applicant and it’s unlikely my parents will be able to afford more than 15k a year. Does anyone know what is the maximum scholarship an intl student can get (by combining a few different scholarships, perhaps) at UC Davis?

Don’t count on ANY financial aid at UC Davis or any of the University of California campuses. There are some public universities in the US that give financial aid to international students, but the UCs are not among them.

UCD gives little merit aid. Regents is around $7500/year and recipients are usually the top 1% of the class. What are your stats?

For the California UC’s, International students are usually full pay since they are public schools funded by California taxpayers. If you are in need of significant aid, look at the privates such as USC/LMU/Santa Clara/Univ of San Diego to name a few.

@katliamom yes ma’am, I understand that. Woes of an intl student. I meant merit scholarships, sorry if that wasn’t clear!

@Gumbymom that’s a shame, it seems like a great school. I have a 2020 on the sat and I’m in the top ten percent of my class in school.

I looked into USC, and it’s definitely a reach school. A scholarship is very unlikely hahaha. I’ll look into the rest of your suggestions, thanks ma’am!

In all my time here on CC, I’ve only heard of one int’l getting a merit scholarship from a UC…and that was a tippy top student and the award was $20k per year…Which would leave about $35k per year for an int’l family to pay.

I don’t think any of those listed schools would work. You need more than a full tuition award…and those schools won’t give that to you.

You’re an int’l, so about $7k per year will go towards health insurance, int’l travel and personal expenses. That means the remaining $8k per year would go towards some of room and board.

@mom2coIIegekids wow, this is tougher than I thought it would be. But I’ve worked really hard, so I’m not giving up now. I guess it’s back to researching schools

Did you look here?

Look for schools that will give you more than free tuition merit. That’s hard for an int’l, but there might be some.

But look fast! Deadlines for applications for admission for some of the generous merit awards in December 1…Monday.
