Curious to know what is the maximum times one can sit an ACT exam?
I did hear a certain number mention sometime ago but would like clarification.

As far as I know, there is officially no max. You are probably most restricted by testing dates. That said, I don’t see the value of taking it more than twice, three times if there was some kind of extenuating circumstance (like the flu).
IMO, students should prepare, prepare, prepare and then plan to be one and done, not just take it cold for a baseline and then try to improve. You can simulate testing conditions at home and do a complete timed practice test for the baseline.
If you aren’t scoring well on the ACT, try an SAT practice test. Some students do better with one format than the other.
I have read anything from 12 to unlimited with your last 6 scores active. It seems that the avg is somewhere between 2-4.
I think that students don’t take it serious enough the first time. I wish kids would get screened for deficiencies prior to taking the tests. Act is a “fast” test in a sense. Many like my son knew the material but getting the timing down was the challenge. He took it 3 times and yes once he was pretty sick but still wanted to take it. No shame. He ended up with a great score at the end of this process. Not everyone is a great standardized test taker and that’s is what is frustrating for many.
Get a review book and read it and follow how they want you to take the practice tests. Those practice tests are really important. You will quickly find out that you need to brush up on math concepts or get your English comprehension up. Etc. “Learn from your mistakes”! If you don’t review the answers and see why you got it wrong you will most Likely do it again. Take full tests and mimic the real scenario like time of day, get up, take a shower, eat breakfast., maybe go to a library “quiet” room and take the test with scheduled breaks just like the real tests. Kids that do this multiple times start to see patterns in questions. Kahn Academy can be useful.
Im looking to improve my ACT Reading component, i got a dismal 17 in English with a 16 in Reading. Whilst i enjoy reading, i reflect back on that score and say it might be the level of the texts that I am reading.
ive had of the figure 12 times is the maximum number of sittings that you can do as well from an online source.
