May 2010 SAT I thread

im in the process of doing a last minute cram of 200 words. ahhhhh

i should probably go to sleep now instead…

To be honest, my judgement is probably inaccurate because i discovered that the key is really to just relax, get a good nights sleep, good breakfast, and have an INTENSE FOCUS on every single question- which i really felt i was today- as opposed to when i was doing practice tests, is the key.

Sleep early, eat breakfast, and relax.

Good luck :)

Phew… It’s over eventually…

Feel really good, waitin for results!!

I have a question though, the test lady said it takes 6 weeks for results to be released, although College Board says May 20th is the release date. I’m wondering if it is taking longer than is official because I’m at an Asian test center?

The results can be seen online by everyone on May 20th on the college-board website. If you ordered a written report then it will take 6 weeks to reach you.

How do you think it went? I think I got full marks for Math, 1 mark lost for Writing with a 10/11 essay and possibly 4-5 wrong for CR. Hopeful for 2300+! :D

What did you guys find difficult on the test?

I don’t think I found anything really that difficult on the test. I usually mess up the long passages but this time they were a joke, however, I had to guess 3-5 vocab questions. Then again, after I left the exam I remembered 3 questions from vocab and googled the answers, turns out I correctly guessed at least 3 of them. Math was pretty easy, and writing is something I am not sure about. Maximum I got wrong for writing is 2, and minimum is 0. I’m hoping for a 2330+.

what did you think of the essay prompt?

So are we actually allowed to discuss the questions or even the test because they seem pretty adament about this policy yet everyone talks about it on here…

Yea i thought the long passage questions were relatively easy suprisingly. Also, i discovered that the need for all that vocab memorising that people do (which i ironically panicked about because i DIDN’T do that) is a hyperbole because so much of it is derived from context so you really don’t need to memorise hundreds or thousands of words that those prep books preach.

Everything was easy, really. I never expected it to be this easy - but as always I am awaiting the scores with my fingers crossed that I didn’t screw up on something silly!

hey when do u think the embargo will be lifted

It’s going to be lifted at or around 1 P.M in the west coast.

I don’t know about the essay prompt. I was going for 3 examples but I could only do two because I wrote too much and would have run out of time. I finished a little over one and a half pages. I don’t know how persuasive my examples were though. I’m hoping for a 11 but I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if I got a 9 or a 10.

I found it easy too. maybe missed 1 question in math and 1 or 2 in writing. hoping 2300+ too. Do we have the same test as in the US or do they make it easier for foreign centers ?

lol managed to pull off 3 examples with all lies filling the page again…

how did direct hits perform?

It was fine actually. Hope to get 800 in Maths. Writing didn’t seem difficult as well. If I wrote good essay, I should get 700+. CR as always. Hoping for 600 but don’t see it coming.

this one didn’t need much direct hits…My vocab is like poor, and I could get 11/14 100% sure, and the other 3 i think i guessed 2 properly because the others didn’t fit quite well…
It was way easier than previous SAT’s was the consensus among the students.

Essay I only used 2 examples but is it good enough if i wrote the whole 2 pages? I wouldn’t be suprised with anywhere between 9-12

It has been over five hours since I got out of the test room and I think I will get a quite high score. It was my first SAT and it seemed easier than the practice tests of CB.
