May 2011 - Biology (E/M)

i thought the northern coniferous forest had needle like leaves

Got that, too ^

violinplayer thats right. Did anybody else take on the fly eye color heredity question with trepedation? It made no mention to sex linked traits, but eye color on flies usually is…

the non sex linked gamete question AaBb

I put Aa Bb

it said that the eye color trait was not sex linked

Wait, it said which gametes can it produce, thought it was a dihybrid crosstype thing?

I put E - Ab, AB, aB, ab?

violinplayer since the genes were not linked i think it could have been AB ab aB or bA.

^Agree.

The test is not that easy I think… it kinda tricky :-s

how many can we miss for an 800?

likely only one or two.

It might be enzymes/temperature ideals too!

Even in photolysis the ripping off of H ions by electrons energized by light photons is assisted by enzymes. All that building of NADPH and ATP molecules requires enzymes. (As in the chemiosmotic theory of ATP generation – the ATPase [AKA ATPsyntase].).

In photosynthesis, the limiting factors are 1) CO2 for the Calvin Cycle, 2) light intensity for the light-dependent reactions, and 3) temperature (both of the environment and the plant) for the many enzymes.

I just googled it, it’s rainforest, thank goodness.

Does the thalamus go with the posterior pituitary gland?
—Ecology—
Why does the tree grow on the north side of the mountain?
What was the answer the the question about the ray tail and lobe (sp?) thing. I think I chose the answer with I and II

Side note: The last question on the ecology test was scaryyyy!! I saw it WORD FOR WORD on a Princeton Review Bio II practice exam thing

what was the one about response to a nerve impulse gallbladder sensory neurons or motor neurons one?

Argh

What I’ve Missed
Two of the biomes. (Couldn’t get over the lack of nutrients and tundra has low laying grass?)
The Lab Enzyme thing.
And the fly one might have been a sex linked trait. Shoot.

hypothalamus

motor

i was torn between hypothalamus and anterior pituitary… :\ i picked the second one
opinions on that question?

@Kwcty The questions said the genes were NOT linked so it cant be a dihybrid cross, so the answer is Aa and Ba

i think the gallbladder one was to cut the motor neurons

I put motor nerves
