What'd you guys think ?

It was in my opinion kinda hard. I’m not that bright of a student but I left 1 blank and guessed 3 or 4 where I could barely eliminate 1 choice. I guessed another 2 or 3 where i could eliminate about 2 choices. I guessed like 6 where i could eliminate 3 choices and finally i always make about 3 or 4 mistakes i thought i had correct. So i’m probably going to fail -.-.

I’m also going to add this to anyone who reads. don’t completely trust people who say “if you get 770 in barrons u will get 800 in the real thing” I found barrons easier than the real test. The best and accurate description of the test can be found from the college board tests (obviously), and the princeton review tests. I found some questions from the princeton review tests that were on the actual test. I would saw sparknotes is slightly easier than the real thing and mcgraw hill is slightly harder (but the curve they offer in their textbooks is wayyyy too leninent. On the real test ur not going to be able to get 6 wrong and still get 800).

it was such a hard test!!
esp. the starlings questions.

what did you guys get for the one where it asks how to control the population? also, the first step to take?

ps: this is for sat ii bio

not sure if we can talk about the tests… but um yeah i took it. took bio E. this was my second time taking it with my first time i cancelled(took it in october). overall the test went pretty well. i felt like it was easier than the princeton review practice tests and the spark notes ones. only questions i was kinda clouded about was the tree one(i should have known they were gonna put that on… and the hardy-weinberg one. i omitted those (thats 3 questionsD:)). i know i got one wrong cause i was mad stupid about the fungi one. clearly fungi are decomposers/consumers and i somehow convinced myself that it was consumer/producer. CRAPAAPAPAP. i am still not gonna cancel my score. i am hoping for a 650:D or higher. that would be awesome.

lacamotif i remember the question ur talking about. was it with the big ass picture?

lol, yes. but that was the 1st question of the series. the other two did not talk directly about the picture

ChickenOnRice: are the questions ur talking about on the E section or combined? (i took M)

i thought the test was muchhhhh easier than the october test. i put that the first step (for the starlings question) was to research the ecology and population dynamics of starlings. and i was unsure about the the best method to control their population but i put trap and relocate (???) even though the starlings lived throughout the US.

also there was a question about substrates and enzymes (it was a I II III type question) about why the rate of reaction increased. im pretty sure one of the reasons was that the enzymes worked better as the temperature increased within that range but was it also because of diffusion?

thankkkksss

I thought it was a pretty difficult test.

I COMPLETELY AGREE with AznCanadian ■■■■■… I got a 740 in my Barrons Books on 3 tests…( I got the Cd with the extra 2) I got a 660 on a college board subject test book but that was before I did organismal Biology and the test was from the old booklet so like … 2005. then I did the same thing as Azn Canadian, for some reason I could not leave that many blank so I omitted about 2 or 3. There was basically no Macromolecules and like 4 questions on Hereditary. LIKE ***… i BEAST THOSE SECTIONS SO MUCH. but yah… the Ecology ending really saved my score I thought it was really easy. So I figure anywhere from a raw score of 60-75 LOL so since it seemed ridiculously hard, maybe a good curve. Hopefully a 750 at least… But right now I am thinking a 720ish give or take 40

yea I got the same for those 2 questions also…

I was completely unprepared for the kidney dialysis one even though it was probably common sense lol… also, what was the thing about… a plant cell that is not living when it is mature but still serves a function? I left that blank ■■■■■.

what is umm fibrogen … it was in questions 1-4… I thought it was one of the active substances to promote blood clotting… but I was like… why did they throw that in lol… and that one about the Chrpmosomes even through me off how sad… Because I couldn’t tell if they meant as a pair of chromosomes … and didn’t know if they counted the X and Y as numbered chromosomes lol

im pretty sure the dead plant cell was xylem. i wasnt too sure about the kidney dialysis question either; was it to form urea from amino acids or to remove metabolic wastes?

for the last one - i said starling-specific virus, not trap & locate - because that just moves them a little, it doesn’t stop their growth.

for the kidney - i said it removes metabolic wastes

and the enzyme one - i put I and II (D)

The part of the plant that is dead bit still serves a function is phloem I believe because it migrates to the outside and serves as bark for protection

fibrinogen is something that clots - but it’s not a cell fragment - so the answer was platelets, i think

for the starling- i said trap and relocate. putting a virus out there is way too risky because it might mutate

kidney- same^

enzyme one- same^

what do you guys think the curve will be?

xylem are “dead by maturity and no longer have living contents” (wiki)

^ also seconded by the sparknotes text online.
