May 2012 Critical Reading Discussion

For dancing passage, what was purpose of the questions NOT?

I got continue flow of argumenet or something

@michael2013
I remember putting down lifelong self-doubt cuz of the word lifelong.

@michael2013

I got life long regret

From the other thread:

Question asking what “solid” meant in context (talking about painting vs. dancing) options were A-substantial, B-3 dimensional? C- compact or something, D-?, E-prudent

I put substantial…

@michael
I got admit life long regret

I thought that in the beginning, she conveyed her self doubt about dancing being uselses.

@zzzzzz i got that too.

Also @zzzzzz,
did you get the following passages?

 1. girl, doll, and books
 2. solar system
 3. texting
 4. dancer and art

@zzzzzz i got that one too life long self-doubt

btw what were the other choices for “continuity with tradition” ? since i remember there was better answer so i chose that…

@michael2013
Yes, but it wasn’t LIFELONG.

i did substantial too but really had no idea

It was substantial.

@Scarn
Substantial

@likeastarr
I got all of those passages, and I didn’t have a reading exp.

Yes, I can understand the lifellong argument, and I would have chosen that answer but I also did not see how the questions continued the argument. Wasnt there no argument?

Which one do you think was the hardest? Excluding the experiment ones.

once again:

2 known reading experimentals:

 • two passages about fluoride in water
 • something about venice

@zzzzzz: ok thanks!

I THINK i had cr experimental… but I can’t remember exactly what it was about.

@Solrak The dancer passage was definitely the hardest for me. Does anybody have more questions from the asteroid/space passage?

@scarn
i don’t but word on wanting more questions. thats the one i remember the least by far

it continued the argument in the beginning where she starts off with ‘what would the common man think about dancing’ and goes on for awhile

With the asteroid/space passage, the shoemaker made a comment and they asked what he was implying. Whether humans living on earth doesn’t mean anything or the solar system is not just about the astrophysical looks. I can’t remember all the options.
