May 2012 Writing Discussion

I put NE for the executives one too.

Something about only 20% of music predicted to be hits were actually hits.

I had 3 as well. by NE, you mean the error identification ones? not the correcting sentences…

@likeastarr

I got that it had to be corrected to “to be so”.

I had 3 in the NE and like 3 or 4 in the correcting

@drac313: that’s what i got! i thought that was a lot of no errors in total…
and @zzzzzz: ME 2!!

zzzzzzz, i agree

What did you guys get for the ants solving things together one. It was the one with such and like.

I put an answer choice with SUCH but not so sure about that one…

Hi guys
What was the answer for the question where talks about “he said his job was easier than ‘his predecessors’”
Was it his predecessrs or that of his predecessors?

I had 3 answer As in sentence improvement and 3 NE for identifying errors.

^I think I said “that of his predecessors.” I was going to put “his predecessors” but it wasn’t possessive, and he was talking about the job.

@Hellohyein
It was “that of his predecessors” since he is comparing his job to their job.

i put that of his predecessors

that of his predecessors PARALLELISM.

Any more writing questions?? I had a writing exp and am currently experiencing a memory loss and can’t remember any questions…

^ I think it it was a comparision error, not parallelism

and for the very last writing question it was on the cheeta.

was it B. but can only maintain or E. ,however, it can only maintain

I put B

I put “but can only” for the cheetah question.

couldn’t it not be E since the first comma would have to be a period?

“The cheetah can reach up 70mph. However, it can only maintain…”

i know that’s not the wording since I think it’s missing a clause but whatever. i put “but it can”

I got #12 on section 10 wrong I think. It was like

she and polly inspired each other or
the two of them both inspired each other

@michael2013
I got the two of them both inspired each other, but I wasn’t sure.

I got she and pollack inspired each other… not sure though.
