May 2013 SAT II Chemistry

Yeah it’s a redox, single replacement is (almost) always redox as long as there isn’t like an ion replacing something in solution

I got T/F for the first three and T/T for electroplating. I think I’m at -2. Hopefully I stay there.

I think the KMT answer choice about collisions simply stated that particles would collide with each other and the walls of the flask; there wasn’t any mention of force.

edit: I had T/F for the first 3 as well.

Does anyone know what the electroplating question actually asked?

The tool one about accurate measurements… Was that B or E because B was a pipet i think where you can press on the top and drop a few drops… Idk what E was tbh

The electroplating question stated that Pb2+ required more electric charge to reduce than Ag+, which is true. It then stated that Pb is more massive than Ag, which is also true. However, the second statement does not explain the first, so it’s T/T.

was the item that’s used to heat something at constant mass the crucible?

the answer to the KMT question was the molecule move in a straight line unless they collide to other molecules or the wall.

I had t/F for the first 3 as well…

electroplating question: more energy required for pb2+ to pb than ag+ to ag. the other statement was Pb has a higher mass than ag.

StudiousMaximus is right about that one lol. You need a larger current because you’re reducing a metal with a higher charge.

You’re conflating two separate choices here. One stated that the molecules move in a straight line, and another stated the molecules collide with each other and the walls of the container (which I now concede is the correct choice).

@justin: Yes, I believe the crucible was right for that one.

For the KMT question does anyone remember the choices?

Also was the first lab equipment one A or E then?

The lab equipment question about specific volume is, I’m pretty sure, E. It was a volumetric pipette (look it up on Google images).

Also, yay - got the electroplating question correct.

wait for the question which of the following is most likely not used in a titration… There was a bunsn burner in the option? I didn’t have that option.

The crucible was the right choice for “not used in a titration,” I believe.

Is anyone still at -0? I doubt many are; this was a pretty challenging test.

I’m at least a -2 now, probably -3. Hoping the curve is something like 81 or 80 raw for 800.

u mean u got 3 wrong? because it is -1.25 if u get it wrong

the crucible wasn’t used in titration right

so do we have a confirmed answer for the pressure of gas (750 - 30 = 720)

&

the KMT question: molecules collide with other molecules and walls?

What about the one for inteoducing NaCl. That was that thing where it looked like something could slide down right

Yeah I mean 3 wrong, which would be 81 raw. :\ I really doubt the curve would be the same as the one in the blue book, though, considering the difference in difficulty…

@above yeah the scoopula
