@2018graduatemom
Firstly, a 770 is fine. Next, if she has a heavy course load sophomore year, I suspect her courseload will be harder junior year. I’m assuming she took chemistry this year, in which case I would recommend retaking when she takes AP Chem.
@2018graduatemom: I think her time would be better spent taking another subject test or pursuing some extracurricular activity that holds her interest rather than retaking this test given her already excellent score (and in freshman year…dang). Plus you mentioned it yourself, it would be hard to relearn all the material again because she will most likely have forgotten all of the really minute details that is required for this test by 11th grade.
@Frigidcold: She took AP Chemistry this year. So no more chemistry for the rest of High School. She will have to wait and see what she gets on the AP test.
People who got 750+, what books did you guys use? I’m taking this test in June, can someone offer me some advice?
Thaaaanks
Barron’s plus 2 online practice tests. Know stoich and period trends well. I put a lot of time into organic chem, but I don’t recall there being anything on it. Don’t stress too much. Good luck.
dangit 780, might as well retake, not much else going on in AP chem now that AP tests are over
Guys, I wrote the may chemistry sat and it went pretty well and I was expecting an 800. I got my results yesterday only to find a 710. I’m pretty sure I’ve done my paper well. This happened when I took the January chem sat as well. What could be the reason? Any help?
For those of you asking (I got an 800): Barron’s is sufficient. If you can get an 800 there, you should be good for the real thing. I also recommend doing as many practice tests as possible (be it PR, Barron’s, or even the real CollegeBoard one, which I got a 780 on lolol)
@sataspirant It’s a conspiracy against you. No you’re probably overconfident and didn’t prepare well enough.
does anyone know where to find the spark notes sat 2 chemistry practice tests? I keep hearing people talk about them but i can’t find the tests! thanks, please respond!
@DTheMei Type exactly what you did, just into google
I’m not sure about chemistry but on math II subject test I didn’t answer 7 questions and I got a perfect score. Chemistry on the other hand, not so good. I got a 680 but I didn’t answer like 15 or 20 questions.
That’s actually surprising. I went in thinking I could only get max 2 wrong for perfect. Turns out it’s at least 4, maybe 5.
I knew two stupid mistakes that I for sure got wrong and one of the TTCE questions that I was 50/50. If you guys think that 5 wrong is still an 800, I’m angry with a 790 lol, but still ecstatic with my 790 hahahah
@Frigidcold I would agree to that. Only thing is, I got 800 on all of Barron’s tests and and I left only 2-3 questions on the real thing. One thing I found out was that if you don’t shade the circle dark enough, the scanner will probably not identify your answer. Could have been that. I hope.
@sataspirant The Barron’s curve is huge, although you could argue it’s a bit harder than the actual test. I believe on the Barron’s scale, they give you 10-15 point leeway. On the actual test, you can only get 5 points off at most for an 800.
800 lol that was easy just skimmed some prep book i torrented the night before the text
Got a 700, I was expecting higher, but I felt my score was decent given my subpar chemistry abilities, turns out it was in the 54th percentile. Should I retake?
oh and my 790 was in the 87th percentile smh
@alldaboston Would definitely shoot for like 750, yeah.
