I also said they were both called away from an amusing past time @Harvardbound2017
@coolblue262 how does the girl show affectation to the speaker though?
For the passage on the girl and speaker, does spark/dear man refer to the speaker?
@Harvardbound2017 I put that it referred to the young woman, but it was either that or the spark
@jane3yre how can spark refer to the young woman when it means suitor? Haha naybe you misunderstood my question, i meant we can all agree “dear man” was from the pov of the young woman, so was she referring to the speaker then?
@curlypie99 maybe dear man is considered her way of regarding him affectionately
when are we getting our scores? because on college board’s website they say mid june but usually its just 3 weeks after taking the test?
woohoo test results are out!! 790/800 i’m buzzing. I actually took the June lit test as well and hopefully I will get 800 on that?? but even if I don’t, 790 is good enough aye
RESULTS ARE OUT omgg. I got 700 wth. pretty bad curve cos i expected 750+.
700 here too, also expected 750+. Bummer. Not sure if I will send them. Depends on the results of the AP Lit exam.
- I'm so disappointed. Expected 700. Do you think I should retake?
If you expected a 700, you should definitely retake it; depends what you’re aiming for, obviously, but if you’re that disappointed, do some studying over summer and take it again.
I got a 710, which I’m not devastated about, but feel like I could have done better. For other people who got similar scores (700 range), are you going to submit those scores or possibly retake? I don’t know if a 710 lit should be submitted to highly selective schools?
What I’ve been told is that a 700 or above score for literature( which is apparently the hardest subject test) is pretty solid. These selective colleges also factor in the relative difficulty of the test aand therefore around 700 is pretty good for ivy and etc.??
Math II 800 Chemistry 800 Literature 790 :)>-
Ok cool. As long it doesn’t function as a detriment
- I wonder what the curve was like for this year...Did any of you study for this test because I had AP Lang all year and was like "why not?"
I got a 710 this time around, but a 740 when I took it a year ago. I retook to see if I could get it to 750+ but didn’t prep for either test. No clue how it happened but I’m content with sending a 740.
I’m thinking about taking the Lit test in October and was wondering how you guys found it in terms of level of difficulty for preparation and for the actual test.
Also, @ithinkuracontra, VAMPIRE WEEKEND REFERENCE OMG.
ok awkward because I’m just seeing this now, but I KNOW!!! @photogeek8
But to answer your question, I didn’t do any prep for the test because I felt that by doing MC for AP Lit all year really gave me all I needed. The test was definitely difficult enough, mostly harder than AP Lit MC questions, but It was doable. I had enough time to think in depth about things. The hardest part was trying to figure out which questions to omit and which ones to guess and answer.
Overall, if you believe yourself to be strong in English then I’d suggest taking it! I actually enjoyed taking it… (I know that’s weird) because I’m kind of an English nerd. Good luck!!
