May be early, But chance me please?

Alright so UDub is my dream school. And I was pretty sure I would be able to get in but now, after browsing this forum... I'm not so sure. Anyway, here are my stats, please take pity on this poor soul.

Please keep in mind that I go to the best public school in Maryland, it is highly competitive.

GPA (UW): I have not gotten my final Transcript from this year back yet, so I used an online calculator that gave me 3.848 but I'm pretty sure it is closer to a 3.5

Classes:
9th grade: Honors Chem, Honors English, Honors Chinese 4, Honors US History, Gym, Theatre 1
10th grade: AP US Government and Politics, AP Human Geography, Honors Chinese 4, Honors Biology, Honors English, Theatre 2
11th grade: AP World History, AP English Language and Composition, AP Environmental Science, Honors Chinese 5/Honors Medieval History*, Choir, Advanced Acting/Beginning Directing
12th Grade: AP US History, AP Psychology, AP Statistics, AP English Literature, Advanced Anatomy, Mandatory state tech credit, Choir

*I chose to drop out of Chinese because it was literally ruining my life, and I am not being hyperbolic. I plan to use the "additional comments" section of the application to explain my special situation. I will elaborate if it will make it easier to chance me though :)

Extracurriculars:
- I am incredibly involved in the Theatre program at my school. I will be the vice president of our Drama program. This year I was in every theater production my school put on. My one act play won two awards (best play and best comedy) I will have been involved with the Cappies program for 3 years (it is not available to freshman) and have been the lead Cappie for the last two
- I have been an active member of the book club for all 4 years of my high school career. I have been the president for the latter two years.
-I was a founding member of the film club my junior year and will be president next year.
-I work at a farmstand (since the summer after my sophmore year) and I love it to death. I might write one of my common app essays about my strong beliefs regarding GMOs and local eating

ACT: 32 (when superscored, composite for both sessions was 31. I might retake it in september)

Thank you so much for taking the effort! Virtual Cookies and Pies for all :)

Well, if your unweighted GPA is a ~3.7, then I’d say you’re in for sure with your test scores. Your ACT exceeds the top 25% at UW, so even with your 3.5, I’d say you have a good chance to get in with your current GPA. Your ECs seem better than many students I know that got in with even crappy grades and test scores. The only problem with your dream is that it comes at a bad time. The Washington State Legislature recently passed a bill into law that requires UW to continuously increase the percentage of in-state to out-of-state students over the next few years. This year alone they requested 200 more spots for in-state students, even as the OOS applicant pool continues to grow. The UW is not like the UCs in that it doesn’t need to accept a bunch of OOS students just to get more money.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but if I’m applying this fall the bill shouldn’t have as much as an impact on me as it could? Not many people apply from MD so shouldn’t that make me stand out?

wishful thinking

well, they offered admission to 58% of OOS students for freshmen 2012, according to them. so, they are right on pace with in state and international.

Definitely in. Just work on those essays a little!
Your ACT score is pretty damn awesome.

also, mochiman24, i don’t really know if that bill made it harder for out of staters. actually, I seem to remember that the acceptance rate went up after that. so, i think it just meant they were accepting more in-state.
