May SAT 2011: Writing Section

Is the mom cooking and the little kid coming over and helping experimental? I know I bombed one of these sections and I vaguely remember it being this one.

Lol no, I’m pretty sure that sentence was completely random. I remember reading the passing and thinking… w-t-f does biology class have to do with this. Then I saw the question about that sentence, and thought wow… so predictable.

Yes - and but the question was not whether it was relevant or not. Sure, it was relevant - but deleting it made the story FLOW better, and transition better from one sentence to the next - THAT was the question

It definitely should have been removed. If you looked at the preceding sentences and the ones after, the biology class sentence makes no sense and is a digression.

the biology sentence should have been removed, 100% on that one. it was relevant to the topic of animal play, yes, but not to the passage itself.

I concede. It should have been removed.
Could someone let me know if the kitchen, cooking passage where the boy came over and was her assistant was experimental?

it was, i didn’t have it!

^ definitely experimental. I did not have that passage/question.

YAY! I completely bombed that whole section. phewwww

Could I have an explanation for “the voice was the uncle’s or that of someone else” vs “the voice was the uncle’s or someone else’s” ?

Thanks guyz. You are da best.

did anyone have writing as their 2nd section and as their expermental?

^I think that I did, maybe.

@farquaad
that had to do something with the sentence that followed it which i can’t remember

I know this is probably goinnto annoy sine of you all but were the “No error” questions the

Scientists with new energy resources.

The corn fuel smelling like French fries.

The Meyer lemon.

???

I think the chinese fruit is edible one was no error.

i remember the corn fuel and the lemon questions but anyone remember the scientists question?

what was it?

^ i don’t remember it either, but it had an error according to most people on here.

does anyone know what the louis armstrong sentence was? that was the other one that was no error right?

the louis armstrong was with his band, Hot Five i believe? something like that. and yes, that was no error.

science one had an error “instead of” was wrong, should have been “in addition to”

no error’s were:

french fries
louis armstrong
lemon

what page was the science one on?
