<p>what did everybody put for the question about technology being a “mixed blessing” or something like that?
i think the options were it overshadows its creators, its becoming more and more important,…and i don’t really remember the rest.</p>
<p>My assumption of my results is:
Math: 790 (min)
W: 720
CR: 600 (this is my worst section but I will probably get much more -expecting the worst, hoping the best)</p>
<p>For the mother-daughter passage, what were the other choices for the “prudent” question? and was this question number 18 or something? and was “prudent” choice (B)?</p>
<p>(because I can’t remember what I put for this one, and I remember fidgeting around question 18)… thanks!!</p>
<p>Reading through these past posts, there seems to be a lot of doubt that counterintuitive was the answer. I agree with the person awhile back who said it was an erroneous claim.</p>
<p>also, whatever went on since last night, you guys are wrong about counterintuitive. that doesn’t even make sense. the author implied that such idea had flaws, not that it was counterintuitive. i dont know the exact wording of the answer though.</p>
<p>in the chimpanzee passage, the author questioned the fact that many people think one inventor invented something, “supposedly,” and went on to say that no one single person can invent something, its a collective work.</p>
<p>also, witty repartee is wrong. of all the answers, that was the MOST wrong.</p>
<p>Does anyone remember the question where it compared the artist with the crazy costumes to a nun? I can’t remember what I put but I think it had something to do with like worldly rejection or something, anyone remember the actual answer? Also what was the one where it compared her to the mask and frame?</p>
<p>in fact, what the hell went on for the last few hours? who decided to just go on and change the answers on the consolidated list? we went over 50 times that fits and starts was sudden bursts. we also went over the counterintuitive. mask and frame served contradicting purposes. let’s do this **** right guys.</p>
<p>did anyone else say “amused tolerance” for the tone question? (string theory)</p>
<p>Complete agreement sounds extreme, as the author of passage 2 thinks that string theory is “wrong” i.e. would not agree that string theory could be even proven through experimental evidence…</p>
<p>Short passages:
1)lying passage
2)welsh passage (first woman from Great Britain to become a composer)</p>
<h2>3)Mother not telling her daughter she is going to college</h2>
<p>1)Lying passage - qualification
2)her nationality wasn’t her most important characteristic
3)Mother - prudent in not telling her daugher</p>
<h2>3)Mother - the litalicized lines were a typical/likely response from daughter</h2>

<p>Long passages:
chimpanzees + (frida Kahlo - flamboyant woman with withering health)
physics string theory</p>
<h2>3) stolen diamond w/ lawyer and butler</h2>
<p>1)look in chimpanzee’s eye/raising of hand shows relation between empathy and technology
1)factory - cooperationg in a productive activity
1)chimpanzees were cracking nuts
1)supposed implied the claim is flawed
1)language allows individual accomplishments to come together

(frida kahlo) playing a role allows you to express your inner self
(frida kahlo) mask and frame question: contradicting purposes
(frida Kahlo) her increasing jewelry or w/e counterbalances her weak health.
2)author of passage 2 would be in complete agreement
2)Authors agree that in its current state the string theory is incomplete
2)superhuman computer represents lack of technology to use it as a tool
2)passage 2 would say that the mathematicians and physicians should pursue different avenues
2)passage 1 says reason string theory is hard to prove is because of complexity of mathematics
2)fits and starts was sudden bursts
2)scope and outcome
2) humans are overshadowed by technology
2) draw means infer
3)innocent people were defamed
3)‘want’ means lack of
3)“as soon as he turned his back” showed his eagerness
3)the quote from robert crusoe represented an omen
3)moment of perplexity
3)Only repeated meant brevity of interval
3)cost means personal toll
3)puffery was self-regard and exaggeration
3)butler was deferential at lawyer
3)Lawyer determined the true feeling</p>
<p>matthew: wouldn’t that confirm that “not accurate” as in “this idea of the invention being the fact of one person is not accurate” was the right answer ?</p>
