May SAT II Physics Discussion

mass vs volume graph is linear, positive slope right?

Also there was a boat on a river. . . and there were waves behind it.
Does that mean the boat was faster?
Someone told me they put “it cannot be determined”.

it meant the boat was slower than the waves.

I put something like that; since they travel in opposite directions, one does not “break” the other.

Was #75 the one about the plane mirror and the waves?

^ What question was that?

I had a question asking about wave fronts reflecting off a plane mirror. Did you have that as #75? I hope it was the last question because that’s the last question I answered and I guess I might not have flipped the page.

I seriously think I didn’t see the last page or something.
I don’t remember a wave/mirror question at all.
Do you remember anything else that was on that page?

Uhm… well I don’t recall any question about using impulse or a force vs acceleration graph, so I think it might have been the last page. I think I might have skipped the last page as well… no I don’t remember anything else… uhm I think it might have been #70 because I only recall bubbling to #70… crap. I guess I should cancel. ):

I’m pretty sure I bubbled in #75.
But I don’t remember three questions that people asked me, so I think I might have bubbled in the same page twice or something . . .
But yeah, I definitely did the same thing as you bibimbap and skipped 5 questions.

thought that mirror thing was convex or something like that
and I got 4 for #74… im not sure about it though

The question with the prism and the air - with the colours refracting out of it.
When it’s put in water, what happens to the refracted rays?
I said that the distance would become smaller (I forget how they worded it - narrower?) someone else I talked to said he picked that they went in the opposite direction . . .?

Also there was another one that asked what was common in all ______ waves, and the options were diffraction, polarization, something, and either frequency/period.
Was the answer frequency/period? I thought it was a trick question.

^ getthatsat, what was the mirror question?

@Abrayo
Wow, that’s depressing. I thought I was doing okay on the physics. That’s automatically 5 points off for skipping the last 5 questions. What is the usual curve for the physics SAT II? I found this one pretty challenging, while the ones in my review book were straightforward and relatively simple. I also didn’t see the prism in air -> water question at all. This is so strange.

Bibimbap, oh my God, we both skipped 5 questions or so.
Were the last 5 questions on the right side or the left side of the page?

Abrayo, my last 5 questions were on the right side of the page (the last 5 questions I answered. My plane mirror one was on the right side of the page, but I think there were only 2 questions on that page). Before my “last” page, I lifted two pages and saw the instructions for the next section, so I only flipped one page and stopped. Maybe the last 5 were on the left side of the second flipped page that I thought were all instructions. I’m not sure if that makes sense… Holy crap. This sucks.

I don’t think it would be possible for me to have skipped the last 5 then, if they were on the right side.
I did that for Chem, but I caught my mistake and I rushed the two pages that I accidentally flipped past. . . That really sucks though. Did you take more than one test?
-5 is about 30-40 points.

Do you remember any of the last few questions then? The ones on the last two pages?

But yeah there was definitely a question with a triangular prism thing and refracted rays coming out of the right side . . .

Wait, isn’t the curve for 800 59/75, according to silverturtle’s guide?

That’s what it is in the Official book.

Okay… I guess I’m alone in my skipping the last page. ): I also took Chemistry. Not sure what I should do now…?
I know… and 30-40 points is so much. I’m still trying to recall them, but I can’t. I just know I didn’t see a prism one with refracted rays, and I didn’t see a force vs acceleration graph that used impulse. Would they have put 5 questions on one page though? I don’t think any of the pages had more than 4 questions on them. Hm.

Well I also skipped a page in between or something.
Do you remember an airplane question?
Someone asked me about it but I don’t remember it.
