May vs June Writing Curve

Okay, so I thought this was a bit strange.

In May, I got -3 & omitted 1, which gave me a 68 MC score. I got a 10 on the essay, and I ended up with a 710.

In June, I got -4, which gave me a 71 MC score. I find that to be quite strange (71 vs 68 seems like a pretty big jump for the same raw score right?). I got a 9 on the essay, and ended up with a 720.

Was May a harsh curve, or was June a lenient one? I was just wondering since I remember a bunch of threads came up after May scores came out, and people concluded that it was a normal curve. But compared to June's curve, it seems pretty harsh..

Each test is curved differently. Remember that your essay grade is 1/3 of your Writing grade, so a 1 point difference on your essay can impact your grade a bit more than you might think.

Based on what I received, I would say the writing curve for June was very lenient. I was given a 9 on the essay, and I missed one question, yet I ended up with an 800.

^ My friend got an 8 and missed one and got a 770. I got an 11 and missed one and got 80 MC, 800 total.

Quite lenient I’d say.

9 essay and 1 wrong for an 800? Must have been a really difficult test.

I missed 5 on the MC, no omits, and a 10 on the essay.

Got a 720.
