MCAT Preparation Early

Hello everyone,

I've been contemplating preparation for the MCAT in the beginning of my sophomore year. I obviously haven't completed a lot of my pre-med pre-requisites, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to start. I've already completed General Chemistry I and II( still have to take Gen Chem III). I've also completed Intro to Bio. I figured I could purchase the MCAT Preparatory books for each specific section such as the Biological Sciences and Chemistry sections. I realize I still require more classes in order to fully take exams from these sections, such as Genetics, Molecular/Cellular Biology and Physiology, but I figured it'd be beneficial to become comfortable with the MCAT format and even so with the information I do already know. Also, I was curious about whether or not it'd also be beneficial to start prepping for the verbal reasoning section as there is no direct way to prepare for this section, I figured starting early would be very helpful. I do not plan on studying for the MCAT intensively during my sophomore year, but I do want some exposure to it. I figured perhaps taking exams one day on the weekends and then revising them the following day could prove to be helpful. What do you guys think?

if you have the free time right now to just randomly study MCAT stuff you should instead be using that free time on ECs. Also, won’t you be taking the new MCAT? Does anyone even make prep stuff for that yet?
