hi everyone. I am an entering college freshman with aspirations to attend medical school. I don't consider myself an outstanding standardized test taker, so I was wondering is there anything I can do now to prepare well for the MCAT? (aside from studying the course material greatly)

It's too early to be worried about MCAT preparation. Concentrate on your college courses because they are initial preparation anyway. Sometime during second semester sophomore year (after you have almost two years of college courses including organic chemistry completed) you will have a better handle on your overall and science GPAs and will know whether they are where they need to be, you can then decide if you are still on track for med school and begin planning for MCAT preparation.

You really don't want to do your MCAT prep course too far in advance; it's best to do it right before taking the MCAT which is usually taken in the spring of your junior year.
