when is the best time to take the mcat? april of junior year, august after junior year, or some other time?

It comes down to personal preference. Some people are prepared the August following their second year and will decide to take it then since the information would still be fresh on their minds and also to avoid having to worry about it throughout their third year. Some people may not be prepared by then, or want the extra time to study throughout their third year and will decide to take it april of their third year. Since most medical schools have rolling admissions, its disadvantageous to take the mcats any time after april of your junior year.
