Does anyone know the average test scores, class ranks, etc. for Mccombs?
Shocked at how few OOS students are enrolled in Mccombs. Bummer…
Those stats for enrolled students are lower than I expected.
@BigPapiofthree UT must admit 90 percent of its class from in state by law. That leaves 10 percent for international and OOS.
@BigPapiofthree it is also nearly representative with the total out of state enrollment, which as of Fall 2015, is exactly 5%. McCombs currently lists OOS enrollment at 4.6%.
@CorpusChristi that demographic breakdown is interesting. I wish more of the colleges and schools provided this. Keep in mind that is the average SAT for the entirety of the enrolled population. Thanks for sharing.
Since UT has been getting more competitive, it can be reasonably assumed that each enrolling class will have a slightly higher average SAT score. University-wide, it has creeped up from a 28 in Fall 2012 to 29 by Fall 2015.
The takeaway from this data is that McCombs has a slightly higher than average SAT score relative to all university admits. The big question is the average rank of admitted students along with the admissions rate, which unfortunately they don’t provide.
@gettingschooled, thanks for that info. McCombs is only 4% OOS. Very low, and has me concerned for S chances.
@KevinRMartin in your educated experience, what is the a realistic ballpark GPA (on 4.0 scale) and ACT/SAT for an OOS applicant to even have a CHANCE at UT McCombs acceptance (assuming no hooks and not URM)?
Also, if a HS doesn’t rank, how is that taken into account in the review process?
We appreciate your insight and candor.
@KevinRMartin ^^^^ Bump, any thoughts? Thanks!
More competitive indeed for OOS students. This is the time of year those hopeful McCombs students await BHP decisions, and a competitive HS ranking of accepted students into BHP is top 2-3% even among Texas students.
