I am from the West Coast and was accepted to both UT and Ohio State for undergrad business. I received a 100% tuition scholarship at Ohio State. At this time it appears that UT will be about 2x the cost to attend tOSU. Is UT worth 2x + Stafford loan vs. Ohio State? I visited UT and loved it, will visit Columbus in March. McCombs is like a dream, not only due to their high ranking, but Austin was close to perfection.
I am still waiting on other schools but would like feedback on these two schools. Feedback around internships and opportunities after graduation will be great.
Take the 100% tuition scholarship, and reward yourself for the hard work that got you the scholarship! Never pay for an undergrad degree, especially from such quality institutions, if you have the opportunity.
Do well, take advantages of opportunities and you never know: You might just be able to apply and attend the good and great University of Texas at Austin for graduate school.
As for internships and opportunities, those students at any school who excel and engage do well everywhere. It’s not the school, it’s the student. Well, except for Texas. I mean, it’s Texas. And in the coolest city in the US, tech, football, funkiness, music. And lots of job creation and innovation.
Haha…you described the struggle with my decision. I know I will get a great education and similar opportunities in both places, but there is something about UT-Austin that doesn’t allow me to just let them go. Hoping visiting Columbus next month will provide clarity.
Good luck to everyone on today’s decisions. Trust that you will end up where you need to be!
@lab99, just to confuse more…There are ways to get instate tuition at UT after your first year. That may change your thinking. It takes little bit of effort, but it is done often. There are three paths you can choose to establish domicile in texasI and get residency after one year. Buy a house or condo(it can be rented out at a profit), start your own business, or get an off campus job for 20 hours a week.(there are creative ways to do this as well).
