Yes I think you can travel for essential activities.

I am sure McGill had consulted with the proper authorities before admitting international students.
Hi there! I’m an international applicant to the Faculty of Arts, submitted grades 12th of January and first semester grades 27th of January. Seeing as my high school diploma is not that well known(I come from a small country in Europe), I’m having some trouble approximating my chances at admission. On a 1-10 scale, I had a 9.53 in 9th grade, a 9.55 10th, a 9.82 in 11th, and a 9.87 first semester of 12th.
I know you’re by no means AOs but I was wondering whether you’ve gone through similar experiences or know somebody who has. I’m stressing out since I’ve been on Ready for Review this whole time.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks a lot and good luck with your application!
thank you so much for the information! i was unaware that i may be able to change to QC residency. how did you go about making this change if you don’t mind? was that done after her first year?
i received an email with the scholarship offer, and it should also be available under the “applicant” tab on minerva once you have an offer available to view.
You must be a Canadian citizen (with a certificate of Canadian citizenship) born outside of Canada. The student cannot have lived in Canada for more than three months cumulatively.
Situation 8 | Legal Documents - McGill University
See Situation 8c.
It involves some paperwork.
Yes, the first year at the end of first trimester. As someone said, you have to be CDN, born outside CDN and have not lived in the country for more than 3 months. Situation 8c, i believe.
Three mos after your entry in CDN (so typically at the end of November), you have to subit proof of residency, prof of occupation for the last 10yrs or so (letter from HS, MS and elementary school on letterhead saying you attended full time), proof of lease (McGill will give you one if you are in residence) and 2 other proofs such as local bank statement with your MTL address or cellphone bill or other utility. Once you provide all this, your status on Minerva changes and you become Canadian and QC resident. They also refund you the difference frim Canadian non QC resident to Canadian QC resident for your first trimester!!!
your information is always so helpful and i really appreciate it! thank you so so much!
Hello, I’m a Canadian citizen that has attented school in lebanon, a small country in the middle east. I have applied for the faculty of education (kinesiology) and my status currently says Reviewed: decision pending… I have read about the grey zone but I’m becoming less optimistic. I also have to know asap so I can manage flights,…
Any help?
my status changed to reviewed - decision pending and i was accepted a month later. hope that you hear soon!
Congrats! Did you have to upload your midyear reports before you were admitted?
Those who entered mid-year grades, how long before they were acknowledged in the portal? DD uploaded hers a couple of days ago but the portal still says “Not yet received/processed.” The grades seem to be in there OK (she hit “submit” and can’t edit them).
The border is open for students studying at McGill. You need a negative COVID test and have to quarantine for 14 days. There are restrictions on extra-family socializing and a curfew right now, so life is not much fun.
thank you! and no, surprisingly. i submitted my first quarter grades when i submitted my initial application but was never asked for midyear grades.
So each wave they admit the highest first?
Yes. They are trying to get to the right yield. The minima that they publish from the previous year is usually pretty accurate. If you are close to the minima you will hear later.
What about those ready for review- do you think they have even opened? My daughter has equal
Or higher stats than those already admitted and we applied in November…crickets
I’m in the same situation. My grades are well above the cutoffs, and I submitted my mid-year grades over a week ago. However, I’ve seen others with similar stats already admitted. Someone I know submitted mid-year grades the same day and got accepted last Tuesday.
It varies by faculty. That could be the difference?
